The announcement was made yesterday, on World IP Day yesterday (April 26), by Intellectual Property Minister of the UK Sam Gyimah.<\/p>\n
The plans for a single European patent court have been years in the making; despite Bexit, this ratification is a huge step forward and now only ratification by Germany is necessary for the court to come into existence. The UPC system will provide businesses with the option of a more simplified way to protect their intellectual property and enforce their rights across Europe than currently exists.
