Intellectual Property and Collaborative Innovation:<\/strong> The romanticized image of the lone inventor working away in his laboratory, developing discoveries far from the world, certainly belongs to the history of innovation. It still exists, but it is becoming increasingly rare.<\/p>\n

Today, inventions are very often the result of the work of several people, of several minds that complement and enrich one another. This collective work can take two main forms: in-house development, where everyone involved works for the same organisation, or collaborative innovation, where individuals or teams from different organizations decide to join forces, pool their resources, expertise and knowledge to carry out projects together that each would find more difficult to pursue as effectively on their own.<\/p>\n

This approach offers concrete advantages: projects that progress more quickly thanks to collective intelligence, shared risks and costs, high rates of continuation beyond the initial validation phases, and partnerships that endure over time.<\/p>\n

It does, however, require an appropriate legal framework, particularly with regard to intellectual property, and rules of engagement defined from the outset if this approach is to be truly effective.<\/p>\n

CoBooster: A National Association for Collaborative Innovation in Switzerland<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is with this in mind that CoBooster<\/strong><\/a> was founded in May 2025. A national, non-profit, independent and neutral association, led by Jo\u00eblle Tosetti<\/strong><\/a>, CoBooster offers companies, research institutes and project holders a structured space to build project teams, co-fund feasibility studies and facilitate the purchase and sale of patents.<\/p>\n

Christophe Saam<\/strong><\/a>, Founder and CEO of P&TS, sits on the CoBooster committee alongside Eric Schnyder (CEO of Sylvac), Martin Forrer (CTO of Fisba) and Fabian K\u00e4ser (CEO of Ctrl-alt-del). P&TS contributes as an intellectual property expert and helps define the legal framework that enables the platform to operate under optimal conditions for its members.<\/p>\n

A Legal Framework Designed by P&TS to Structure Collaborations<\/strong><\/p>\n

When several parties decide to innovate together, defining the rules of engagement before starting is essential. Without this framework, the risks are real: disputes between partners over ownership of results, poorly defined exploitation rights, and difficulties in extracting value from collectively developed work.
