We are currently seeking to recruit for our Neuchâtel or Zurich office a

Patent attorney or patent engineer, German-English

The main responsibilities consist of:

– Patent applications: the analysis of invention announcements, strategy proposals, patentability searches, drafting patent applications in French and English, examining applications.

– Searches: patentability searches, freedom-to-operate searches, in collaboration with our team of patent information analysts.

– Audits: IP roadmaps, IP assessments.

– Business Development: management and independent development of client portfolios.

Preference will be given to a qualified patent attorney with prior experience; however, we do also train candidates with a strong scientific background and willing to pass the exam and become a patent attorney. We are particularly looking for candidates with an initial qualification as a physicist, electrical engineer, and/or microtechnology engineer, and able to deal with inventions in promising fields such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchains, biometrics, semiconductors etc.

The candidate must be able to conduct meetings in German and in English and be able to draft in these two languages; an at least passive knowledge of French is also required.

Your mission:

  • Administrative support to engineers and lawyers in all procedures related to the obtaining of patents and designs.
  • Correspondence in French, English and German with inventors and partners in Switzerland, Europe and the world
  • Precise and meticulous monitoring of procedures (deadlines, cost estimates and invoicing)
  • To be the privileged interlocutor of telephones and contacts with external customers

Your profile:

As a trained commercial employee, you have at least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in a technical or legal environment. With a real sense of organization and analysis, reliability and quality of work are your strong points. You are fluent in both spoken and written English, as well as French and German.

Head of finance and management

Your mission:

To manage, coordinate and ensure the financial and administrative management of the firm.
Supervise and oversee the administrative team composed of 8 people.
To be the privileged interlocutor of the management and the engineers.
Determine areas for progress and involve the team.
Develop and implement quality procedures that are consistent and in line with the company’s values, with a view to continuous improvement.

Your profile:

With a commercial background followed by further training as a finance and organisation specialist, you have a solid theoretical background and the experience required to manage the finances of an internationally active company of 30 employees. You are experienced and enjoy coaching employees in order to maintain and develop a corporate culture based on respect, trust and individual responsibility. You are able to develop and enforce quality management processes and are able to take the initiative. You have an interest in teamwork in an environment that values efficiency. Excellent knowledge of French or German is an asset.
