The first ever P&TS Innovation Evening was held last Thursday at the Hiltl Akademie in Zurich. Around 50 inventors, tech transfer managers and other P&TS partners gathered for this event to bring together and celebrate the vibrant innovation community.
Ronan Guirey, Director of P&TS Zurich, opened the ceremony by recalling the important development of P&TS, especially with startups and SMEs. Did you know that almost 600 start-ups have worked with P&TS over the last 10 years, in particular to develop effective intellectual property strategies and accelerate the transition from prototype to market success? Ronan also explained the diversification of P&TS services, first in the field of chemistry and pharmaceuticals, and in parallel for offering IT legal services.
Luciano Beffa from Verity Studio then presented the developments of this start-up which has managed to establish itself in a very short time as a major player in the field of indoor drones, for shows and for monitoring stocks in warehouses. Over 100 patent applications have been filed to enable this aggressive approach in a hyper-competitive market.
Lukas Knecht of Art Recognition then presented the startup’s amazing results in authenticating paintings by analysing brushstrokes using artificial intelligence.
