CTI Startup is no more, long live Innosuisse in 2018!
Over a period of 10 years, P&TS has guided more than 400 start-ups, providing them with advice in terms of intellectual property and assessing whether their intellectual property strategy is a good fit for their business plan. Overall, this has involved hundreds or even thousands of hours of meetings, numerous reports, freedom-to-operate studies, the review of hundreds of CTI contracts, and considerable work in the field, all of which has brought us a thorough knowledge of the needs of young Swiss technology companies in terms of innovation and intellectual property.
The innovation and start-up scene in Switzerland has changed radically over this period of time. Practically every week we discover new technological companies with more projects, more ambitions and more success. The use of intellectual property by start-ups has become professional – the various tools available, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, etc. are used more and more often combined with a strategic vision in order to protect the market share, to negotiate licensing agreements, and to raise more capital or to manage an exit thanks to the promise of future profits that intellectual property offers. We have seen, for example, companies that do not manufacture products or offer any service, obtain excellent valorisation based entirely on their intellectual property.
We are lucky to live in an exciting, rapidly evolving ecosystem, and we look forward to continuing this great adventure with Innosuisse!
