How can intellectual property drive sustainable value in the context of collaborative innovation?
Our CEO, Christophe Saam, will address this topical question on 27 August at this expert half-day event hosted by Dentsply Sirona in Ballaigue, organised by CoBooster, a collaborative platform run by Joelle Tosetti for the creation of project teams, co-funded feasibility studies and the transfer of patents.
Taking place from 13:45 to 18:00, this afternoon will bring together key industrial players, technology providers and innovation stakeholders to explore how capital goods can generate long-term value, through circular economy strategies, retrofitting, reuse and smart intellectual property management within collaborative innovation ecosystems.
Christophe Saam will present on “Intellectual Property in collaborative innovation: strategy, protection, and licensing”, exploring how IP can serve as both a protective tool and a driver of value creation when organisations work together. He will be joined by five other expert speakers:
- Kamran Houshang Pour (Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property): opening the afternoon with a national perspective on IP and innovation.
- Sandra Von Kaenel (GoCircular): on circular economy as a concrete business opportunity for industrial companies.
- Siddartha Berns (HEIG-VD): on how additive manufacturing and reverse engineering enable the sustainable reuse of industrial components.
- Fabio Ventura (Ventura Mecanics): on retrofitting as an essential tool for industrial sustainability.
- Cyril Amez (Fanuc Europe): raising the question of whether highly reliable, long-lasting products align with inventory optimisation theory.
- François Aeby (Dentsply Sirona): presenting a real-world case study on production machine lifecycle management from a sustainability perspective.
The afternoon also features a roundtable discussion and a guided tour of Dentsply’s facilities, followed by a networking aperitif to continue the discussions on a more informal note.
